Around 73 people were killed in a drone strike on a market in the disputed Abyei region, according to South Sudanese officials cited by India Global Review. The officials blamed Sudan’s military, but that attribution has not been independently established.
The outlet reported that satellite images showed extensive damage at the site. It also said the strike hit a fuel depot previously used by Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). That reported past use does not establish who controlled the depot when it was struck.
