Colgate-Palmolive India reported a 4.3% year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs 341.57 crore for the July–September quarter of FY27 on Thursday, October 22. Economic Times Markets, citing the company’s regulatory filing, reported that volume gains and pricing actions supported the performance. Profit in the corresponding quarter a year earlier was Rs 327.51 crore.

Sales rose 12.22% to Rs 1,691.57 crore from Rs 1,507.24 crore. The board also declared a first interim dividend of Rs 24 per equity share, with a face value of Re 1, for financial year 2026–27.

Sales expand, but expenses grow faster

Total expenses increased 16% to Rs 1,267.28 crore, outpacing sales growth. Total income, which includes other income, rose 12.57% to Rs 1,727.50 crore in the quarter.

For the first half of FY27, total income reached Rs 3,353.60 crore, an increase of 12.3%. Managing director and chief executive Manish Anandani said the company had delivered double-digit topline growth for a second consecutive quarter, with gains across brands and distribution channels.

Premium toothpaste supports volume growth

Anandani said toothpaste volumes expanded in high single digits, supported by the premium toothpaste range and Colgate MaxFresh.

Gross margin improved by 40 basis points year-on-year to 69.6%. He attributed the improvement to the company’s Funding the Growth programme and said disciplined savings and measured pricing actions remained central to managing commodity-cost fluctuations.

The company also increased investment in brand building and premiumisation during the quarter. Looking ahead, Anandani said he expected robust growth supported by its science-backed product portfolio and advertising investment; that outlook is a management expectation rather than a reported outcome.
