France Prepares Soldier Deployment as Further Unrest Looms

France is preparing to deploy soldiers ahead of feared further unrest over the weekend, India Global Review reported on October 21. Its account says curfews are in place and riot police are on the streets, but does not identify the affected locations or specify the soldiers' intended duties.

The preparations come as the government faces public anger and political divisions while trying to advance spending cuts. The report describes talks as offering no clear resolution. It does not confirm that soldiers have already been deployed.
