తెలుగు అనువాదం సిద్ధమవుతోంది… (మొదటిసారి కొద్దిగా సమయం పట్టవచ్చు)
Jio Platforms’ Rs 30,213-crore initial public offering crossed full subscription on Wednesday, October 21, its first day of bidding, with qualified institutional buyers driving demand. India Today reported subscription of 1.14 times at 10:44 am, with bids for about 22.58 crore shares against 19.75 crore shares available.
The institutional portion, excluding anchor investors, was subscribed 3.68 times. Retail subscription stood at 0.26 times and non-institutional subscription at 0.28 times, showing that the overall figure did not represent equally strong demand across investor categories. These figures are a source-reported snapshot, not a live subscription service.
Institutional investors lead the opening response
Qualified institutional buyers bid for about 18.03 crore shares against an allocation of 4.90 crore. Retail investors sought roughly 2.20 crore shares against 8.50 crore reserved for them, while non-institutional investors bid for around 1.01 crore shares against 3.64 crore available.
Within the non-institutional category, applications above Rs 10 lakh accounted for subscription of 0.22 times in their portion, compared with 0.40 times for the portion described as applications below Rs 10 lakh. Employee and shareholder subscription stood at 0.61 times and 0.47 times respectively.
The reported update put the value of bids at around Rs 25,265 crore, with more than 10.17 lakh applications. Before public bidding, Jio Platforms had raised approximately Rs 8,110 crore from anchor investors. Reported demand for that allocation was about Rs 2.5 lakh crore—more than 30 times the amount available—with global asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, domestic mutual funds and insurers seeking shares.
Price band, minimum application and listing schedule
The offer runs from October 21 to October 23, with a price band of Rs 1,065–Rs 1,119 per share. It comprises a fresh issue of 27 crore shares.
The minimum retail application is 12 shares, costing Rs 13,428 at the upper end of the band. Allotment is expected to be finalised on October 26, with listing scheduled for October 28 on the NSE and BSE. These are the reported timetable dates, not completed milestones.
Grey market premium is not a promised return
The reported grey market premium was Rs 276 at 9:37 am on October 21, up from Rs 245 on October 19 and Rs 273 on October 20. Added to the upper offer price of Rs 1,119, that implies an indicative price of Rs 1,395, or a premium of 24.66%.
Grey market quotations are unofficial indications, not exchange-traded listing prices. They can change before trading begins, and neither a premium nor oversubscription guarantees a listing gain.
Brokerage backs long-term prospects, flags telecom risks
Religare Broking recommended subscribing with a long-term investment horizon, citing Jio Platforms’ scale, financial performance and opportunities in 5G, digital services and enterprise technology.
The reported financial figures show revenue from operations rising from Rs 1,09,558 crore in FY24 to Rs 1,46,885 crore in FY26. Profit after tax increased from Rs 21,423 crore to Rs 30,049 crore over the same period, while the FY26 EBITDA margin reached 51.9%.
The brokerage expects higher average revenue per user, greater data consumption, customer retention and margin expansion to support growth. It also identified potential in enterprise digital services and overseas monetisation of Jio’s technology platforms. These are investment expectations, not assured outcomes.
Risks highlighted by Religare include dependence on telecom subsidiary Reliance Jio Infocomm, regulatory changes, spectrum availability, competition from satellite broadband and possible changes to net neutrality rules. Its recommendation is the brokerage’s assessment, not an endorsement by BharatVox.
