Former kabaddi player Tejinder Chauhan has built a 221-foot Ravana effigy at a reported cost of Rs 70 lakh. India Global Review reported on October 20 that the project took three months and involved 40 workers.
Chauhan has devoted decades to making giant Ravana effigies. The outlet's headline says he sold 12.5 acres of land before building this one, though further details of the sale and its connection to the project's funding were not available.
The effigy is due to be burned during Dussehra celebrations and is being guarded by 100 bouncers, according to the report.
