Three shots were fired at actor Tiger Shroff’s BMW in Mumbai’s Juhu on Sunday, October 18, as he travelled home after a football match, India Today reported, citing police sources. Shroff escaped unhurt, while his driver was admitted to Nanavati Hospital.
DCP Mohit Garg confirmed that Shroff was safe and had sustained no gunshot injuries. The report did not specify the nature of the driver’s injuries or his condition.
Police deploy 12 teams
Mumbai Police formed 12 teams to identify and locate those responsible for the firing. Officers cordoned off the area, which falls under Juhu police station’s jurisdiction, and began investigating the circumstances of the attack.
The identities of the shooters and the motive had not been established at the time of the report.
Gang claim awaits verification
A social media post attributed to Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, described in the report as gangsters based abroad, claimed responsibility in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi group.
Police had not authenticated the post or confirmed any involvement by the group. The online claim therefore does not establish who carried out or directed the firing.
Family team confirms actor is safe
The team of Shroff’s father, actor Jackie Shroff, also confirmed that Tiger was safe in response to an enquiry from the outlet. Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar spoke with the family following the incident.
