Unidentified attackers allegedly fired several rounds at a vehicle carrying actor Tiger Shroff near Pushpa Narsee Park in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, October 18, The Economic Times reported, citing police. Shroff was reportedly out of danger after the incident; his driver, identified as Firdosh, sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm.
Both were taken to Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle, the report said. Police said two people were injured, including the driver, but the report did not identify the second injured person.
Police deploy 15 investigation teams
Mumbai Police formed 15 teams to investigate the alleged shooting, according to police statements cited in the report. Investigators were examining how the attackers approached the vehicle and seeking to identify those involved. No motive had been established.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis contacted the Mumbai Police Commissioner for details and directed a swift investigation and stringent action against those responsible, according to ANI, which cited sources in the Chief Minister’s Office.
Video and alleged gang claims remain unverified
A video circulating on social media purportedly shows people running for safety as gunshots are heard. The outlet said it could not independently authenticate the footage, so it should not be treated as verified visual evidence of the incident.
The report also cited preliminary accounts alleging that Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, described as purported associates of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had claimed responsibility. Neither those claims nor a connection between the alleged gang associates and the firing had been independently established.
A voice note and an X post allegedly linked to Pandit reportedly threatened people working with actor Salman Khan. Their authenticity remained unverified. Police were examining evidence to establish responsibility and motive; the reported threats do not establish why Shroff’s vehicle was allegedly targeted.
