Moderna led a ranking of US-listed stock-market gainers with a reported 733.54% rise in 2026, ahead of SanDisk at 480.60% and Iovance Biotherapeutics at 435.53%. Economic Times Markets reported on October 22 that at least 10 companies with market capitalisations above $5 billion had more than tripled their share prices since the end of last year.
Healthcare accounted for seven of the top 10 companies, while technology supplied the remaining three. The figures are the publisher’s reported market snapshot, not live quotations or independently verified prices.
Moderna and SanDisk lead the ranking
The report put Moderna’s share price at $245.81, compared with $29.49 at the end of 2025, and its market value at $98.1 billion. The biotechnology company was the only member of the group with a reported price gain above 700%.
SanDisk, the flash-memory maker, ranked second. Its shares rose from $237.38 to $1,378.22 in the reported comparison, giving it a market capitalisation of $200.3 billion.
Cancer-immunotherapy developer Iovance Biotherapeutics took third place, with its stock increasing from $2.73 to $14.62 and its market value reaching $6.6 billion.
Healthcare dominates, but technology also features
Synthetic-biology company Twist Bioscience and biological-research tools developer 10x Genomics followed with reported gains of 370.15% and 363.46%, respectively. Their market values stood at $9.9 billion and $9.8 billion.
ImmunityBio ranked sixth with a 336.36% rise, narrowly ahead of semiconductor manufacturer MaxLinear at 334.83%. Cancer-treatment developer Erasca followed at 289.52%; its $5.1 billion market value was the smallest in the group.
Dell Technologies ranked ninth by price appreciation, with a reported 285.99% gain, but had the largest market capitalisation among the 10 at $308.9 billion. Corcept Therapeutics completed the list with a 234.14% increase and a market value of $12.6 billion.
What the figures measure
The ranking covers year-to-date share-price returns for US-listed companies valued above $5 billion and excludes American Depositary Receipts, or ADRs. It is a selected list of winners, not a measure of the performance of the wider US market.
Price appreciation is also distinct from total investment return, which can include dividends. For an Indian investor, these reported dollar-price gains are not the same as realised rupee returns: exchange-rate movements, transaction costs and taxes can affect the outcome.
The report does not establish what drove each rally. The sector concentration therefore shows where these selected gains occurred, rather than demonstrating that healthcare or technology stocks broadly delivered comparable returns.
