Israeli Police Detain 10 Over West Bank Settler Attacks

Israeli police detained 10 people in connection with violent settler attacks in the West Bank, The New York Times reported on October 19. Israel has faced pressure, including from the United States, to investigate the attacks.

Rights groups say most investigations into extremist assaults on Palestinians fail to produce results. That broader criticism does not establish the outcome of these cases, and the detentions alone do not establish guilt.
