Pakistan School Roof Collapse Kills 32 Children, Teacher

A school roof collapse in northwest Pakistan killed 32 children and a teacher, prompting safety inspections of schools across the region, The New York Times reported.

The disaster has raised questions about school-building regulation. The available report summary does not identify the school, specify when the collapse occurred or establish its cause. It also provides no inspection findings or evidence assigning responsibility.
